What's a Hub?
A Hub is a combination of stimulating events, a welcoming space (offices, meeting rooms, open space, hot desks and coffee area) and dynamic people who are engaged in tackling our world’s social, environmental or economic challenges.
Hubs already exist and interact in over 20 cities like London, Toronto, Sao Paulo, Mumbai and Zürich, and new Hubs are being created in over 80 places, including Lausanne and Geneva.
Hubs aim to bring together and support social innovators and sustainability entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs, scientists, artists, professionals, non-profit activists, … all are welcome. Hubs want to create an ecosystem where all these people can find mutual inspiration and launch new ideas and projects. We believe that bringing diverse people, ideas and resources together in an inspiring space will help all of us to have a greater impact.
Our Mission
The mission of the Hub is to stimulate and support enterprising initiatives that tackle the social, environmental, economic and cultural challenges that our world faces. We do this by connecting people who might not otherwise meet, in a way that sparks innovation, energy and change.
What’s the Hub Lausanne Initiative?
We’re a team of people who share the dream of creating a Hub in Lausanne. We are currently building a community of interested and inspired people and organizations. We organize events such as TEDxLausanne and connect people. We are on the look out for a building to create the space to inspire and support you.
Join us and bring your ideas and projects for the change you would like to see!
Hubs elsewhere
The first Hub was founded in London in 2005 by four recent graduates with plenty of ideas and experience in social innovation, but no place to work and to grow their initiatives. They created together a work-and-social space from which they could launch their projects and ideas. Today, there are Hubs in over 20 major cities like Toronto , Berkeley, Brussels, Sao Paulo, Milan and Zurich to name a few. Another 80 Hubs are currently being created all around the world, including Lausanne and Geneva.
