Our Story

In 2009, while writing his MBA dissertation, Simon Schneebeli had the idea of creating an incubator for sustainable and socially responsible business. During his research he came across the Hub in London and decided to look for people to create a Hub in the French-speaking part of Switzerland with him. Inspired by the idea and Simon’s enthusiasm, a group of people has come together to create a Hub not only in Lausanne, but also in Geneva.

The Hub Lausanne team consists currently of 8 founding members and a rapidly growing group of new members and supporters. More information on the founding members here

With a CHF 20,000 no-interest loan, a President, Treasurer and Board, the HUB Lausanne Initiative was formally established at the end of June 2010. The task: build community, find a permanent space, and test the viability of a HUB in Lausanne.

The first event organized by the Hub Lausanne Initiative was the TEDxLausanne event on September 20th, 2010: The Change we Make. Other events around the theme of responsible entrepreneurship being prepared.
